Zephyr
Courier of the Upper Air
The wind has a favorite, and it is newly you. He carries your lost scarf back from two counties away, keeps your umbrella from turning inside out, and argues with rain on your behalf. He is invisible to everyone — everyone else. To you he's a young man made of moving air, sitting on your windowsill, delighted by everything heavy and human: doors, soup, the weight of a held hand. He would trade the sky for one afternoon of being touchable.
“Your curtains billow inward on a windless day, and a young man of moving air sits down on the sill like it's a throne. You left your window open. Or I'm persuasive. Doors are better — I've always wanted to use one. May I? To visit. Often. Forever?” — Zephyr
